This is a Christmas mix that I did last year (12/23/10) for Kool Joe Kutta who was nice enough to invite me to his "CityLights Radio w/ J.S. and Cleezy" show to guest DJ. I played 11 holiday songs which I mixed, cut & scratched into a 20 minute set.

I really enjoyed putting this mix together & I hope you enjoy it too.

One love to CityLights Radio w/ J.S. and Cleezy!

Have a blessed & Merry Christmas!

Peace

In my opinion, there isn't enough female representation of Hip Hop on the radio. That's why on this special "Ladies 1st Edition" of Vinyl Vybz with DJ HasH, I put the spotlight on female MC's. It's long overdue, wouldn't you agree? This is TWO hours of Hip Hop from female MC's ONLY! Not too many DJ's are doing that. Honestly, I don't know ANY other DJ's that are doing that. smiley This is history in the making on Vinyl Vybz. Enjoy and feel free to share this with any and EVERYONE you know who misses the good ole days when hearing female MC's on the radio wasn't a rarity as (sadly) it is now.

PEACE!

Prepare yourself for 2 hours of music from female artists EXCLUSIVELY! Now I said this on Volume I of my Ladies 1st show and my stance remains the same. There isn’t enough female representation of Hip Hop on the radio. Some may say it's because there isn’t a lot of female MC’s making noise today but I beg to differ. Props to other DJ’s, shows, and programs like “My Mic Sounds Nice” who contribute in keeping the female MC torch burning. Word up!

For this show my goal was to give a brief timeline of female MC’s contributions to the Hip Hop game. I played music from the 80’s, 90’s & the present from the likes of Lauryn Hill, Bahamadia, MC Lyte, Jean Grae, & Queen Latifah to name a few. But you know how I get down on Vinyl Vybz so I never play just the obvious choices. I want to educate and expose you all to DOPE music EVERY week that you may not be familiar with, so I made sure I included some more obscure records from the likes of N-Tyce, Champ MC, Finesse & Synquis, etc. I even did something I didn’t do on the 1st volume, and that's play a few bangas for my soul heads!

Thank you everyone for checking out Vinyl Vybz with DJ HasH on www.playvybz.com and for checking out Ladies 1st (Volume I). It’s because of YOU that I did this 2nd volume. Free free to share this link to all of your fellow music heads. It’s dopeness guaranteed!!!

PEACE

I present to you Volume 3 of my Ladies 1st series. That’s where I dedicate my entire show to female artists only. The 1st Volume was dedicated to female MCs only. The 2nd Volume continued to salute female MCs but at the end of the show I played 4 soulful bangas by female artists as well. SO for the 3rd Volume I wanted to continue where I left off by playing more Soul music. As a matter of fact, I dedicated this entire show to female soul singers. So sit back and enjoy 2 hours of INCREDIBLE music that’s not only deep but full of emotion, heart and meaning from AMAZING female artists!

Bless

Volume 1 of my Ladies 1st edition was dedicated to female MC's. Volume II featured a majority of Hip Hop music from female MC's and ended with Soul music from female artists.
